Srixon Cabretta, ruined after 2 rounds...

Currently trying out one of the the new Ping gloves. (The Sensor sport version)
One of the best fitting gloves for me personally, usually gloves are a bit long in the fingers for me (even in a small). Only downside is the leather is fairly thin, so using it sparingly and using my usual FJ weathersof gloves for practice rounds.

It probably would have helped if you'd taken it out of your bag after playing and let it dry. Leaving it wet in the bag for 3 days was never going to be the best way to extend it's life.

Too true. I use the same gloves, let them dry naturally, and they are fine.

all leather gloves should be kept in a plastic bag after each round, keeps them supple and fresh for the next game.

I've found that the Srixon Cabretta don't last well in the humidity and can even get weak enough to tear during first round

Using Callaway all-weather at the moment and they easily last 15-20 times longer

Over the last 2 winters I have worn a Footjoy GTX, have to say it's been one of, if not the best performing all round glove in all weather conditions that I have ever used. Also got great wear and grip out of Mizuno Gripflex. Footjoy Cabrettasof also good and wears well.

I find the "hybrid" gloves with leather palms and synthetic backs tend to last longer and hold up better in the sort of weather we have been having of late. Not to everyone's taste though and in truth not quite as nice as a full cabretta, but more practical as well as being less expensive.

Footjoy Sciflex. Used these for as long as I can remember, last a long time and good even in the rain, although if it gets really wet I change to a FootJoy rain glove which works fine. I've used the Macwets in the rain too, very good indeed.

If any of my gear gets wet, I take it into the house to dry on the side..........

Yes It was my fault forgetting to get it out and let it dry. I also found in the rain it went a bit slippy.

Those rain gloves that people are recommending, do you buy one for each hand?

The Macwets (which are great) come in a pair. If it's not too wet I'll just use the left one but if my grips start to get wet then I use both.

I believe you could get a 'Cadet fit' on the FJs and they are suited for people with shorter fingers vis-a-vis the palm size. (no personal experience though)

Mizuno Skintite are great gloves at a price that shouldn't break the bank.

Re: Lump and thin leather gloves.

I have a Titleist Players glove still in my bag. It's been played a couple of times a week over the last 3 months and is still playable, if a little tatty and these are very thin.

The only place I've ever seen sell Cadet fit was the pro shop at the Belfry. Never seen them anywhere else.

Description of the cadet size here.. http://www.footjoy.co.uk/customerservice/gloves_fitting.asp See if this is what you are looking for..

I did a quick search for FJ cadet size and it does not look cheap. However, when I just search for 'golf glove cadet' it throws up Ping as an option!!. So something here from ebay http://r.ebay.com/JJshaM that looks reasonable
