Is your grip correct? Alot of people will say yes to this but most will be wrong. Your right hand should sit almost on top of the grip so your palms face each other and your arms hand loose and natural.

Check out this video Rikards golf grip

You could also ask someone to mimmic the the correct behaviour of the club head through impact by taking hold of the shaft, whilst you are in the set up posistion holding the club. Let them turn the club head and you take not of how this feels.

I often spend 10-20 minutes swinging back and forth turning the hands over trying to get the timing right! doesn't matter if there is no ball there because you will start to do it naturally.

You could also try the 3 ball drill, this always gets me turning the hands over in the correct way!

I've been struggling with this. If your grip is sound and your club on path, you will need to bite the bullet and go and practice (a good few balls) mixing in 3-4 "air" swings (clipping the tee on the mat) in between real shots really trying to cross the hands over until you speed up your release through the ball.

Mind over matter on this one. I tried a stronger grip today but towards the end I was pulling/hooking too much. Better to think more Woosnam....get that right hand turned over aggresively through to 3 o'clock.

How thick are your grips?

I was told, at a fitting, that if the grips are too thick it can prevent you turning the hands on time!

This is SO true. If (however) you've been ok for ages with a set, then unless you've had a re-grip, it's not too much of a worry.

evita4......can you explain how the explanar helps the hands.....I thought it was just a plane gadget.....or is there something clever in the "roller".

I want one, I want one......

I just figured that if it was due to the hand positions then the pro should have pointed it out and if the grips themselves aren't too thick then it's a timing thing and practice and drills from the pro should sort it!

Thanx for the tips guys...pro did spot it gave me a tip,he said swing one handed and the hand your hands will rotate then after a few swings, both hands on the grip and try that..hve been doing that, but just asking for a few tips to see if i could try..

With the explanar set up for your height etc. The roller goes back on plane and as it is quite weighted the roller gives the effect of pulling your arms and body through to a good finish position. You cannot prevent the release of the hands.
Hope this helps
