I seen this post on a footy site, and whereas it is someone who obviously has a glass half full opinion, is he spot on or not:-

Quote:

As a Spurs fan I am terrified about next season.

Without being mental I reckon we need:

A new goalkeeper, Brad has been good but he's 41 years old!
2 x new centre halves
1 x left back to replace Benny. He has too many blond moments
Scotty has been immense but he is a year older and Sandro is not good enough so we need a ball winner. VDV hasn't been good for months and cant complete 70 mins so we need a goal scoring midfielder. Modric is a dead weight and should be let go so we need a creative midfielder. Doubt we'll get £40million for him now though. Bale is off so we need a new flying winger. Lennon is just rubbish so we need another winger. We literally have no strikers so we need 2 of them.

Over the last 3 years Harry and Levy have overseen an utter embarrassment of transfer policy that has left us in this position. Sadly, harry's legacy will be sending Spurs back to mediocrity.

Enjoy him England.

Unquote.

Seems very harsh, as Spurs were my outside title challengers 2-3 months ago, I know your results have been crap since the England job was mentioned, but he makes you sound worse than relegation fodder.

Bored talking about Liverpool....

I think it is both harsh and spoken with some sense. Would any other manager have got spurs to where they are with these players. Is the spurs fan who originally made this post thinking along the same lines and is more terrified about losing Harry and having these players than keeping both.

Harry did the same to Portsmouth, and look at them now.

Harry for England? Not for me. He is one dimensional at best.

The op didn't mention ade going back to city either.

I don't care though, as I'm arsenal through and through.

Thought seeing them on the slide would bring out a smile. Like the cat who got the cream

Spurs are going to go into mid table mediocracy like my beloved Liverpool unless they do something drastic. I would not be surprised if your team was without Redknapp, Modric, Bale and Adebayour. Without those 3 who have Spurs really got that is top class?

Maybe a lot of truth in the original post - Bale may do one, Modric may leave (again), Parker will be ok for another season, King doesn't play enough, 1 more quality centre half is needed, Defoe should leave for his own career so another striker or 2 is definitely needed and a new or decent back keeper is needed. If Harry leaves then its a decent job to come into but one that could easily be a problem job as the bar has been raised pretty high now after the lst few seasons.

Surely, if Bale and Modric were to go, they would get at least £70-80mill in though. If Spurs get champs league you can add on another £20-30 mill. It would be good for rebuilding a new team (as long as Kenny doesn't spend it for them).

If not they keep 2 brilliant players, add a few more anyway and still should be challenging for top 4 next season. I just think Harry needs a plan B. They have been fantastic to watch for 2/3rds of the season.

Either that or they get a new manager in (if Harry goes) and he may be able to even improve them.

Wait for Kenny Dalglish to get sacked from Liverpool and sign him up. He'll spend a fortune expecting to create something special and they'll fall after the January transfer window.

In all Honesty, Spurs need to get rid of Levy and get someone who knows more about business and less about football and supports the club. Oh wait, he owns Newcastle United :)

I think with a few in and a few out spurs can still improve. There's a few positions within the side that can be improved - left back, right mid/wing, striker - them 3 positions could push Spurs into 3rd and pushing.

There is an element of truth in the OP. I think Spurs have flattered to deceive on their resources and there isn't actually that much strength in depth. I don't rate Harry and I think Pardew or Hodgson will be the next England manager. My money is on Hodgson because of his Fifa links (he is/was on the elite coaching panel), he's managed on the international stage, won't embarrass the FA (Hoddle, Venables Sven) and apart from the Liverpool debacle where to a degree he was on a hiding to nothing he's done well with limited resources which is a phrase I think sums up the current England side quite nicely

I think I agree with nearly everything posted in his thread. I have never understood the love for 'Arry, can't find any love for the bloke myself, and can't get over the fact that he always looks like he's sucking on a lemon........

As far as the spuds go to quote Murph

"I don't care though, as I'm arsenal through and through."

As a Chelsea fan I will be very happy if we finish above Spurs given the shocking season we've had (by our recent standards). From what I have seen of Spurs this year, and from what friends who are Spurs supporters have told me, the majority of the first team are very good, but the back-up players are not up to the standard required to challenge for the Premiership over the course of a long season. As for Harry, I have been told by a few players who have played under him that he would be a disaster as England manager as, although he's a fantastic man-manager and motivator, that is it - tactics, studying the opposition, coaching etc are in the main all done by his assistants.

I am against Redknapp for England totally as I dont like the bloke and also can't see why people rave over him what has he achieved really. Whenever any top jobs are going he is never mentioned.
