We had our Spring Cup today. Weather forecast Red Alert heavy rain but the committee still decided to play it.
Low and behold it chucked it down and it was abandoned but not til at least half the field were out.
The only thing they achived by playing it was ruining parts of the course that now look like a plowed field.
I feel sorry for one of the early starters who came in with a possible winning score only to have wasted his time.
Anyone else got a club who put getting the money in before the members or the course?:$

I was due to play the final of our 4BBB winter league this morning and we cancelled yesterday when the weather was clearly going to be awful. I saw online the course was closed at 7am this morning so the chance for a good lie in for once (am)

Played Pedham place today that's known for being windy, at some holes it was 4/5 club wind. Course was virtually under water even though I was told by the staff " some small puddles "

They were having a laugh and after 9 we walked it, gortex suit let go so soaked to the bone....

we were closed again, having been open Fri Sat, but it was the rain overnight rather than today's weather that caused the conditions.

it's now blue sky and sunshine...

Junior captain drive in and ladies match were called off but the course was open was the early message. That changed to the course is waterlogged and shut about an hour later. Any club playing a meaningful fixture/comp/match in this weather are seriously taking the mickey!

Was meant to be a foursomes shotgun start comp this morning. Cancelled by midday yesterday in light of the poor forecase. As the start was meant to be 6.00 followed by breakfast, it was greatly appreciated that it was called off rather than let people turn up at the club and see what the weather was going to do.
