Hilarious that his mate in the green shirt couldnt stop himself laughing!

I hope Jordan embellished the gentleman with some sort of gift!

The lack of shout is what the players should get fined for

Good job he wasn't really - right in the nads otherwise!

Or he might have been stood further up (he was walking at the time he was struck) and the ball missed him and would also have seen Spieth's outstretched arm.

Only the two best golfers on the tee but, hey, why would you want to watch?

Apart from bad manners, are they actually breaking any rules only indicating and not shouting?

I don't think there's any rule on the PGA or European Tour that says they have to shout but it's rank bad etiquette by the very people who should be setting a good example. You could suggest that the youngsters of today watching this will rock up at a club near you in years to come, fire off line and stand there waving and gesticulating like Rory, Jordan and everyone else, not shouting and put members in danger. I hope I've taken that the n'th degree and it won't come to that... ever, but you can get the gist

Nope, don't get the gist, I started off by saying it's bad manners and agree with Phil something should be done, was asking if it's actually breaking a rule as without one, it would be impossible to take any action and as on other threads, people have stated a few thousand pound fines don't actually impact on the players, also it's pretty pointless shouting if the people are that far away they wouldn't hear it or think it's from an adjacent fairway and turn into the ball.

So accepting there aren't any rules in place and its' bad manners, with which I concur 100%, how do you change attitudes on tour. I disagree that its pointless shouting as it's done by a few (mainly European) players regularly and crowds seem to react. My question is, what happens if youngsters getting into the game watch players just stand and point and then think that's right to do at their local club. I know plenty of courses where holes run side by side and a wayward shot can be going towards a group playing the other hole. Would you be happy to have a ball land close by, turn around and see the youngster just holding an arm out. That's all I asked

I've got a crazy idea....

How about, just for once, we judge the video in the light hearted way it's intended. The guy was ok, everyone laughed it off and the world was a happy place for a moment.

Crazy eh?

Please read Phils first post and my last, I agree Spieth was wrong, I was putting back to you a far fetched scenario like you put to me, Spieth isn't the first not to shout, it's being going on for years and I am not expecting our Juniors or Juniors all over the world to start copying Spieth from today onwards😃

Yes please😃

After having a couple land within 6 foot of me over the past couple of months. I agree that there should of been a shout, but I also agree that the player by not shouting was not breaking a rule. Any avid golfer that attends these events as a spectator will know full well that not all tour players give it a shout. And hopefully as a spectator, would be watching the play to know the ball was in his/her general direction and react accordingly. It's the risk you take as a golfing spectator I'm afraid, I'm sure Spieth would of offered his sincere apologies, plus something to sweeten the deal imo. No harm done either way thankfully.

Shame the Golf Digest write up can't tell the difference between Ken Brown and Tony Johnstone. I suppose they do sound very similar.

I watched all the golf this morning I wonder if anyone else was.

Speith and I believe it was the 2nd hole of his round drove the ball right off the tee and I also believe again that it was Rory or Fowler that pointed right.
As Speith walked back towards his caddie the microphone picked up Speith saying
"I hope it doesn't hit him" or something along those lines.
No-one in the group shouted "Fore" and imo and of course its only an opinion its a flaming disgrace.

I remember a couple years back a player getting hit and everyone was downing tools and going to hospital with him.
Only when someone gets seriously hurt maybe it will become a rule.

Jesus fella, you'll be fun on a night out.
