I'm going to start speed training to increase my club head speed.

I'm reading a short ebook by Tom Slagle, who is a long driver coach.

He recommededs training your fast twitch muscles by using just a shaft and gettng that "swooshing" sound.

Also he suggests that you buy a Swing Speed Radar, so that you can record you CHS.

Now this seems like a large expense, has anyone tried this program?

Have you bought a swing speed radar?

All thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated.

i would get technique bang on before trying to go faster. I have consciously slowed my swing speed down in an attempt to gain accuracy over distance. good luck though!

My son had a coach a year ago who gave him exercises to increases his swing speed, similar to what you have mentioned. He is a top coach in the NE and reckoned it was vital for him before he turned 18 as thats when he reckoned your SS is pretty much set for life in terms of big gains.

The SS Radar is a very good and accurate device and is not that expensive to be honest. Make sure you get the red one though that does tempo as well. I know they can be had on ebay. An alternative is something like the swingbyte, 3 bays GSA, etc which will also give you SS and some other info but they are a bit more expensive.

I know there are a couple of reviews posted on here by some forum members.
