I have a spare kbs shaft sitting in the garage and was thinking of putting a hybrid sleeve on the end to try with my 913 hybrid.
Anyone tried this? What were results like?
Thanks

How long is the KBS shaft and what loft is the hybrid?

You do see them about from time to time as Titleist do make them with steel shafts for custom fit. It makes an long iron replacement rather than a fairway replacement... Kinda sorta thing. Clearly the KBS will be shorter than a stock hybrid shaft and lighter. Your making a forgiving long iron.

Will have to check the weight of the hybrid shaft Al , but I would have thought the kbs be slightly heavier? It's a custom hybrid shaft, not a stock one.
It's a 6 iron shaft I pulled a while back which makes it quite interesting I think as an experiment.

Ahh quite short. It may be hard to create enough speed to launch it. I guess the shaft will be like 120 grams or so and you would expect a graphite hybrid shaft to be circa 70-85 grams. It will be a low burning ball flight I would think. Heavy short shaft with little loft. Fun to play with though. Should be easy to strike.

Thanks for the input. It's only a tenner for a sleeve so maybe try, and if it doesn't work back in with the current shaft :)
Have you tried something like this before Ethan?
Or is there a specific reason you feel I'm flogging a dead horse ?
Thanks

What tip size is the shaft and the sleeve? Chances are 0.355 shaft and either 0.350 or 0.370 sleeve. If its either you have a problem as one the shaft is too big and the other the tip will be too big and have too much play making the glue bond and centering more difficult IMO.
You might get a shim to fit as you do get 0.370 parallel iron hosels.

Might be more hassle than its worth TBH.

Thanks Grieg, might have a look over the weekend as have a busy few days coming up. But I'm sure it's 370. Kbs shaft from a 6 iron. Have to double check.

If you are going to do this properly, you need to find the head weight of the hybrid and then use a shaft from the corresponding iron as they are all in the same area but all different weights.
You will then have a shaft that plays to flex if its the same length as the iron it came out of.
