I just wondered if anyone off the forum had thought about playing in this in august next year. http://southportcoastchampionship.co.uk/

At £299 its not exactly a bargain but I suppose given the quality of the courses it's definately worth thinking about.

One of the courses is Formby ladies but the competition is only open to men, that doesn't seem right.

I think you'd be slightly gutted if you didn't make it to the final at Birkdale, it states though that the non Qualifiers all play at S&A instead on the final day, its still 5 days of golf on great courses.

I saw this the other day and thought it looked pretty good. Its a few quid though and i bet the rounds would be slow as hell. Agree with Dave above too, not qualifying for Birkdale would really pee me off

This comes across as an upmarket competition against the Wirral Classic venue.

Can amateurs win £1k, I though it was restricted to £500.00 or is the voucher a way around it?

Its also worded very poorly in that it infers you play 5 courses but actually due to playing West Lancs twice, you only play 4 whether you qualify or not as the qualifiers get Birkdale and the non qualifiers get S&A.
