Southern Matchplay draw

I have just recieved the first round draw for this competition and I am well happy with the courses I have to play at

North foreland Golf Club which is rated very highly in the region
and my favourite of the 2 is Littlestone GC an Open Qualifier course :thup:

i will get to play both under competition conditions

Is anybody else in this comp and where have you got to play

Yup, first round at Chalgrave Manor woohoo lol

Its a course on our reciprocal card so I can play it for free if i want anyway, local yet not highly regarded. Even at free I havent chosen to play it the last 3 years. Wasnt the Woburn I was hoping for, maybe Ill get that in the Nike matchplay

We played doubles in the Nike (Volvo) match play at Woburn, have also played brocket hall 3 times in that event too + a few other good tracks, good value for £20.

Well ive snuck my way into round two Managed to win 4 up away from home (only dropped 4 shots) and then was 1 over at the turn at home leading to an 8 up lead . Foot off the gas for a few holes before closing it out for an 8&6 win Hoping for as nice draw in the next round. Anyone else playing in it?

Played in the NE event, "played" is open to interpretation as I was 5 down away and a further 5 down by the time we'd finished the 10th at home a trouncing handed my way 10&8 had to enjoyable rounds with a decent chap.
Going to try for better luck in the Nike.

I have played both 1st legs of my matches.
In the pairs we are 4 down after the away leg so not to disheartened the course at Littlestone is a killer if your not straight.

I am 7 up after my 1st leg of the singles playing the away leg on Sunday at North Foreland GC

Oh well, that didnt last long lol. Got beat 4&3 by a 6hcap at Beadlow Manor earlier. Played pretty awful tee to green and despite my short game being decent wasnt enough, especially when the lad I was playing got stuck on the birdie train on the back 9. Not the greatest of courses and the greens have more grass and are slower than ours would be in winter, which takes a fair bit of adjusting to. On the plus side the arms 90% ok now, so will be able to get out and practise a little soon hopefully (certain parts of the game clearly need it lol)
