Need help fellas with getting sound bar working:confused:

Bought a sound bar for tv and it has 2 types of connections....optical in and port in but tv doesnt have an option to use optical cable so after bit of help as to what i would need to get it working..

Cheers

What audio out options does your TV have? Is it for Freeview or online content where the TV is the source? Is it to run an externsl source through?
Need more info in order to help.

N.B: If your TV only has RCA out (ond red one white, sometimes called phono) then you would need a RCA cable, assuming the port in is RCA.

Ahhh Yeh would help if put make etc :o

It's an LG LAS260B sound bar I'll post pic of TV ports when I get on laptop later.

Cheers

and thats whats at back of tv.

Coax out is your digital audio output.

You'll need a Coax to Optical convertor (which will require another plug socket to be used) and any RCA-RCA cable. Being digital the cable quality isn't really a concern.

The cable I've posted is a stereo RCA - RCA but you can simply pull them apart to give you a 2 X single RCA - RCA. It's cheaper than the single RCA - RCA I found during a search.

Your other option is to check the side of the TV for a headphone out socket and connect via 3.5mm stereo jack.

Edit: Just spotted you have headphone out on the left hand side in that picture. That's what you could use for the 3.5mm stereo jack cable.

Yes, looking at the manual for the soundbar, the port in is a 3.5mm jack so a jack to jack cable like the Ibra one Bob posted woukd go straight from the headphone out to the soundbar.
Only thing I will say is the headphone audio is often volume limited so you may find you need to turn it right up.
