Straight right leg - that's going to cause problems!!

Clubface is pointing to much to the sky at the top, more problems.

Being at a club that has to overpay players to make them sign - bigger problems.

I still dont understand Gareth Barry moving to Man City - well when I say dont understand there is obviously the money but its surely a backwards move football wise.

Man City will attract big players once they get into europe and they need to attract that kind of player to get them there - But for Barry it doesn't make sense City are miles away at the moment and he is 28 he will be to old by the time they have a side capable of getting them into Europe (Champions League) - Good Job Mark Hughes was a good footballer his golf looks dodgy

This'll probably get moved now that it's become a football thread but:

For any club to start to move forward, someone has to be persuaded to take the leap first. Now £110k per week makes convincing someone to take that leap an awful lot easier of course, but the leap still has to be taken. Whether or not Sparky can back that up by convincing more talent to go to City remains to be seen. You could put your house on it not being their last signing I'm sure.
I'd be very surprised if they were not tucked in behind the "big 4" next year and depending on how well the new signings gel they could even mount a challenge for that 4th spot.

Freddie - who else was showing interest? Of the top 4, only Liverpool fancied him and they fell short of £18m last year and now he's gone for £12m, they must have been put off the wages or just changed their minds.

For villa, it's a good bit of business as they get £12m now versus nothing in 12 months. For Barry it is more long term I think. He is probably thinking Man City have a big pot of cash and the potential to break into the top 4 a lot quicker than the villans. How long do you think Villa will last in the Europa Cup next season? I doubt they will get far....so he has saved himself half a dozen games and gets a huge hike in wages. City will likely finish above Villa next year, but I doubt they will break into the Top 4 yet.

I agree with the Man City thing to a point they will not finish top four next year without another 4 or 5 quality signings. I just don't see the sense from Barry's point of veiw, if no one was interested this year all he has to do was hold out for another 12 months, he would have been able to go on a free to a side in the champions league. I would imagine even Fergie would be interested in Barry for free.
