Have just heard that the EFL (Football League to those of us of a certain age) have announced that any re-organisation will not include Premier League "B" teams or.......... teams from other countries.

I would like to think that this will finally put an end to all the suggestions that the Auld Firm will be coming South but I suspect that envious eyes will continue to be cast at the Premier League and the EFL will, therefore, be seen as a "route to the loot".

However, for the time being at least, that would seem to scupper the idea.

Excellent - they can continue to whinge about the standard of opposition in Scotland - well Celtic can - Rangers currently being part of 'the standard of opposition'.

One day the MSM will cotton on to the fact that outside of supporters of the two main weegie clubs there aren't many supporters of the rest - aka diddy clubs - who care very much at all - if anything - about C&R

And yet you and your ilk never miss an opportunity to whine about them. Funny that.

Well these two clubs have made it patently clear that they don't really care about the rest of the clubs in Scotland - to the extent that they are quite happy for the world and his dog to know that they'd rather be in a different league.

Good job too and common sense prevails regarding the Scottish teams. However, don't the likes of Barca and Real Madrid have B teams playing in lower leagues? Surely that gives their younger players time to play and improve, and could see an argument for their inclusion at some level. I guess the issue will arise when one eventually gets to the championship and then wins a PL place. Not sure how it would work but if it works in Spain would it not work here

It might but amongst those supporters that attend EFL games I have yet to find one that would be in favour. After all those U23 teams that are playing in the EFL Trophy have not exactly covered themselves in glory so far.
