Well, these last few weeks have been rather unexpected. It would appear that despite not being one of the lucky few selected for the 'Play Your Best' challenge, the idea has affected my game more than I could've imagined.

As a result of my recent scores, I have had an 'Exceptional Scoring Reduction' with another 1.0 coming off my handicap, taking me down to 15.4!!! :o

I'm am in shock more than anything right now. I can't stop looking at the graph!

I am however now 100% certain that I am going to be useless to my fellow whippersnappers at Woodhall, as I have a feeling that the shots I have shed are going to be very sorely missed!

Congrats on all the cuts, I'm sure they're fully deserved.

It can take a while getting used to playing off a much lower handicap than you're used to, but think of it this way...
You will NEVER get cut the amount of shots you beat your handicap by, so all you have to do is the same again and you still beat your new one. You've done it so many times, you can do it again.

It's not a new course, the holes haven't got any harder, you just have a different number by your name.

A mate of mine off 13 shot gross +4 at the weekend and got cut 2 shots. He says it's given him more confidence as his new handicap is confirmation that he's a better player than he was.

Roll on Woodhall, there'll be no stopping you! :)

Well done Achilles, that's a great start to the season!

Woodhall is Matchplay so you'll not be looking at the missing strokes in the same way as you would in a Medal or Stableford, just as the difference between you and your opponent/s handicaps.

The bigger problem is that you'll be playing against a crack team of experienced and skilled golfers who will make you realise that there's still a long road ahead of you before you can attain the highly profficient level of the maturer golfer.

Thanks all. Appreciate the advice Gary, and must admit I am feeling a bit daunted about playing consistently to my new number. 15 seems too good for me, but I guess I should take confidence from it as you say. I know what I am capable and I am certain that if I can have a round with no major mistakes I can go lower. It all seems to have happened so quickly that I haven't had a chance to adapt! Still, looking forward to the challenge and tackling it head on! Tiger, Cat 2 would be nice but I'm trying not to get ahead of myself! ;)

Crow, good point about it being Matchplay, should soften the blow.

And as for your last comment...

:D
