Hey guys looking for some views if u like, I have just volunteered to be the social convenor for my club was mainly because the last guy quit and didn't really do much. The my problem is that I haven't done anything like this before and also have only been a member and a golfer for 9 months! So what would you like to see at your club and what's already in place that you enjoy, just social things please

you could try a quiz night, a race night, or even get hold of a golf simulator and hold an event based on that. I tend to find race nights and quizes bring in the ladies too

My place has entertainment nights with live music, they always fill up quickly.

I am on our social committee, this year we have had live music, a hog roast, 60s/70s night. We had a race night last year, all are generally well supported.

Burns Supper Night...

You could speak with a golfer and organize a golf competition - Highest Score Wins Quiz - Lowest Score wins golf - Start on first tee - you have a question sheet (and answers) To hit a shot, you need to get a question right. Play it as a Texas Scramble, You hit if you get a question right, then pick the best one and then repeat. Sound good or rubbish?!

Best of Luck in the role!

Awesome will def put the race night down I tried a hog roast at my parents pub before and was an epic fail! But have been told about an annual Texas scramble and BBQ that's always a huge hit

We have the occasional sports quiz and a general knowledge quiz which are well attended. You can hire someone to provide and ask the questions for a small fee.

We have a family day with BBQ etc. Part of that is a 9 hole golfer/non golfer pairs comp where the golfer plays tee to green and the non golfer putts. That is good fun and has got my wife involved.
