after watching the Ladies open champs yesterday, I watched the announcement for the Wild cards, did Annika make the right choices? It will be tough against the US in the US, but do we have a strong enough team to compete? Emily Pedersen of Denmark, Madelene Sagstrom of Sweden and English pair Georgia Hall and Florentine Parker are the picks. Opinions?

Masson and Norquist were the other two pick
 
Good picks, I think. Would always have liked to see catriona in the team but her form just hasn't been good enough to justify a pick even with her experience.
 
Nordquist was a pretty obvious one. The only reason she did not qualify regularly is that she was sick and could not play the required no of events. Masson seems to be in very good form at the moment and she also has played in the Solheim Cup before, so brings in some experience. The other two surprised me a bit, especially Sagstrom, maybe a bit of Scandinavian bias here. There were quite a few other players to choose from who had similar or better performances this year and who have more experience. But maybe Sörenstam has certain pairings in mind that she thinks will work well together.
 
Wondering if it's unusual that only one player eligible to play in the cup is a current top 10 player (Lexi Thompson). Ryder cup obviously excludes high ranking players but this seems more of an issue in women's golf.

Will look forward to the cup though, I love watching women's golf, for me it's as engaging as the men's game.

It's demographics. Asian players dominate the women's game and aren't eligible. I've said before they should have a three way competition with an Asian side such that two of the three play each year while the third sits out.
 
I think Masson and nordqvist were def picks, thought Munoz may have got a pick too but I'm sure annika knows what she's doing. It's usually a good few days and I'm looking forward to it.
