Sodding roofers !!!!!

Wife just rings , roofer doing a bit of guttering and repairs drops a bucket of slates,,,result chipped beading and scratched glass on a new composite back door .
Then just says sorry and carries on :angry: looks like no intention of and repairs or anything ,,,this is gonna get funny especially when it comes to paying him .


Edit- should say roofer not all are careless
 
Accidents happen, it must be freezing up the ladder today. Still, you gotta take responsibility for your own mistakes.

We had a roofer drop a tile onto the bonnet of one of our cars that was under a cover. He came down his ladder with his mate, they looked under the tarp to see if there was damage seemed to have a chuckle and then went about their business. When asked about it they denied any wrong doing, their faces when we showed them the CCTV footage were a picture as they were when we settled the bill minus all costs.
 
He has said to the wife he will knock something off the bill for the repairs , however looking at pictures it does not look like its going to be an easy or indeed repairable , deep gouges around the glass beading and loads of scratches all down the door.
His cost for the job is less than the door cost .
Have left a message with the installer think i will hold back the payment and let these 2 sort it then see whats left.
Shame really he is a bloody good tradesman and all his work is first class and have no worries about recommending him when asked.
 
We have a flat bit of roof between the old part of the house and new and had roofers in to put a new coating of some sort of Grey resin on it.. came home and 2 sets off foot prints across the patio, a load of this gunk on the raised flower bed where they had tried to scrape their boot... before walking up the garden also trying get it off themselves... They denied it .... even when shown the footprints..
 
No problem. His insurance will cover it.

You did check his insurance, didn't you ????
