Society Game in Febrary - suggestions of suitable courses in Gloucestershire?

Hello everyone,

I've been landed with the unenviable task of organising my Societies first meet in February next year and would like to take us to a course that meets the following criteria and would like some help from the knowledgeable folks that reside here:

• Within a 40-50 mile radius of Gloucester, so takes in Bristol, Birmingham, Swindon I guess...
• Likely to be in reasonable nick for the time of year, I appreciate that it's a big ask but a lot of courses near to us don't drain well for example and we would like to make the best of the meet.
• Provides a good meal...
• We are staying over, where ever we go for the night so close to a lively spot, tollerant of 16 silly boys with too much beer on board!

Any advice is much appreciated. :clap:

Bowood would get my vote! great course, lovely facilities, good food etc. no idea how much, i went on a works jolly!

Forest of Arden. On site hotel and not too far by cab into Birmingham

Front nine at Forest of Arden does not drain too well in winter.

Frilford Heath near Abingdon a better bet, not too far into Oxford either.

Why not head toward burnham and some Winter links golf.
