We played the last game in our 4bbb winter league group stage this morning. All on temporary greens and the ground was frozen solid. We ended up winning 3 and 2 and sealing passage to the last 16 knockout phase with 4 wins and 1 defeat.

Our winter greens are about the size of a large lorry tyre and a nightmare to putt on, so I'm happy to have won it and we played pretty well in doing so.

Anyone else brave the Arctic today?

Was out this morning at 9.30 and it was a bit of a comedy to be honest. Could't keep your footing on the tee boxes, I nearly fell over twice. Hit a wedge into one green, landed on the front edge and bounced over the green and out of bounds. Not much fun at all really.

we were out, greens frozen solid, only choice was to land short and roll up. any shot that landed on the green took off like a rocket and landed 30 yards behind.
very nice out there in the winter sun :)

Haven't played in almost three weeks due to a health issue.... To say in missing it is an under statement,

Congrats on the win and progression though Chris

I had much the same, I played a gap wedge to a 104 yard par 3 pin and had to clear a pond in front. I planned to land it in the area in between the pond and green - I played it just as I planned and it was like hitting a concrete runway - I wonder if I'll ever see that ball again.

Game today cancelled as we still have snow on the course

Might as well have landed it on the pond and bounce it on from there?

Minus 7.5 degrees C when I teed off at 9.30 this morning. Risen to minus 6 by the time we had finished at noon.

a bit warmer than that here today Clive, we were about 4 deg, but have been as low as -5 during the day and much lower at night.

I'm told we are due a warm spell at the weekend !!!!

Four degrees according to the BBC forecast, with 15 mph winds. I don't think that'll be warm enough to get the frost out of the ground though.
