When he hits his club on the ground in frustration a few weeks back, yet young Anthony Kim leaves go of his club 3 times in the same said frustration and it slams into the ground a lot harder than Tiger did, and nobody bats an eyelid???

When Kim let go of his driver last night on the 11th (i think) tee, if that didnt leave a huge mark on the ground then i'll be astonished!

Sublime performance by Tiger though it has to be said, some of his putting was awesome!

Yeah, I saw that. I was more worried when he chucked his putter as I'm sure that would have affected the green quite close to the hole. (not that anyone was coming through behind them.) I wondered if that was allowed.

Well said KeefG. Some of the comments on here about Tiger are so pathetic! They seem to ignore the golf h'es playing and just concentrate on his reactions! idiots.

Talking of idiots did anyone else think Poulter's comments yesterday were a bit over the top. I'm not his biggest fan but if he cannot control things like what happened on the 15th and learn to just move on to the next hole he doesn't stand a chance at the open

I fail to see where said "idiot cameraman" was stood, I rewound the footage a few times and freeze framed through and I didnt see anyone stood in his line of sight 25 yds away!

To be honest, I think he was just looking for someone to blame for what was a crap shot.

ok maybe he was a little out of line but if you was in contention to win a tournament and a large sum of money and some photographer takes a photo during your swing which distracts you causing you to mess up you probably would have done the same because i know i would

I agree! he's a bit like Sam Allerdyce who always blames the ref for his teams crap performance! he's an idiot as well as he needs to be wired up to someone in the stand to tell whats going on!!

No he does it all the time He thinks everyone wants to take a picture of him playing golf but it was probably some guy from a fashion magazine taking pics to show off this summers colours! He should give his ego a rest and be glad someone wants to picture his mediocre performances

First of all Ian Poulter didn't have a crap performance yesterday, he finished 3rd on -10 I think. He actually used the incident to finish well, getting up and down for 5 on 15 then holing good putts on 16 & 17 for par & birdie.

I am one of the people who sometimes "slate" Tiger, but his attitude and behaviour not his golf. He is a role model for millions and it annoys me when he spits all over the course, there is no need for it, he is not running around and needing to spit like a footballer or rugby player so why do it? I also don't like the way he sometimes curses after bad shots in full earshot of the fans and the tv mic's.

I fully appreciate his fantastic golf but I just wish he would act with the class that his lofty position demands he should.

Nothing to note on Mr Kim's petulance yesterday then?

Surely, as number 14 in the world, and one of the PGA's young rising stars then he should also be setting the same precedence? His performance in club dropping yesterday was one to behold.

No one mentioning the fact Tiger gave a nuckle high 5 thing or whatever that American thing is called to the lad who was in a wheelchair at side of 17th green (he had his arms and legs and 1 eye blown off in Iraq on Easter Sunday) but Kim simply walked passed him looking at the ground although the commentator tried to say Kim 'acknowledged' him (my arse his head was pointing at the ground).

As for Poulter have you ever heard him blame himself,I mean ever blame himself for a bad round/shot??!!
And those discourteous post round interviews he gives with the pulled mad face like he is trying to watch what he says do my tits in.....'I left 4 shots out there with bad breaks,I'm not getting the bounces,I found the only bad lie on the course etc etc'......utter Knob.

Tiger is awsome, though was not happy with his spitting on the Tee when he messed up his Tee shot on 13,14 or 15th(cant remember)

Kim's throwing of the Putter was not good, I think it just missed Tiger's marker

I enjoyed the game all the same :D

I haven't seen it so can't comment on Kim although he has a record of this, remember him being DQ'd at the HSBC Champions when he bent his driver or 3wood or something.

But Kim is the perfect example, he has grown up watching Tiger and now thinks this sort of thing is acceptable. I'm not saying it's Tiger's fault but if he acted beyond reproach then others would follow his lead.

I don't remember Greg Norman or Nick Faldo acting like he does when they dominated the world rankings, with the result being better behaviour on the tour as a whole.

I don't get all this "I was distracted" business.
Surely a professional Golfer concentrating on hitting a ball is focussed enough so they can't hear a camera shutter from 25 yards away. Does a roar from the crowd 500 yards away stop them - not often. They're just looking for someone to blame and the first cameraman in line gets it.

Time they all grew up and realised that if we wern't interested in them they wouldn't be where they are.

I think the club slamming, snapping, shouting at photographers all adds to the spectacle, makes it a bit more enjoyable for me to watch. I'm not even that bothered about the spitting, whilst it doesnt add anything to the game and isn't great golfing etiquette I can honestly say it makes no difference to me.

No ones mentioned that all tigers winnings from yesterday went straight to charity either.

"No ones mentioned that all tigers winnings from yesterday went straight to charity either."

This is exactly my point though, he does do so much good both for golf and for charities but then lets himself down with his general behaviour at times, in front of millions.
Remember the "I putted like a spas" comment at The Masters a couple of years back?

And that really upset you Wildrover??!!

With Minty here, they can hoy about their clubs as much as possible and I aint bothered 1 little bit, nice to see a bit of passion, spitting?couldn't give a flying duck about that either,I grog on the course too occasionally espec if my arse is nipping and my mouth is dry in a tight/crucial game!

Those who get upset about Kims/Tigers/Anyones antics need to get out more and I wasn't having a go at Kim re the War hero just pointing out if the roles had been reversed it would have been interesting to see peoples reactions.

I don't mind a bit of emotion, whether it is whinging, or club banging, taking it out on photographers, etc. Better that sport isn't populated by mindless robots, who are too scared of my opinion to actually say or do anything. It proves they are human.

Not keen on spitting, but then who is?

As for swearing, who hasn't?

No Dodger it didn't really upset me, I'm not easily offended, I just find it dissapointing that the world's No1 golfer behaves like this now and then letting himself and the sport down, and setting a bad example to kids taking the game up who as we all know love to copy the stars of the game, Woods being the biggest star will be copied a lot more than others. If players carry on like this where will we be in 10 or 20 years time?
