Played this afternoon in pretty reasonable conditions and knew (by my standards ) I was going O.K.

Got to the 18th, a par 5, nailed a 5 wood and hit an 8 iron to position 'A'.

Then proceeded to hit my worse shot of the day which ultimately lead to my only double.

Added up the score to find I'd missed my personal best at the club by one and if I'd made par on 18 I'd have managed my first round in the 70's there.

Gutted.

Bad luck but take the comfort from the solid 17 holes you played. Even the top players can hit a shocker on the last. The more you get in the position to shoot a best score or in contention to win the more you'll learn to deal with the feeling in your stomach

Been working hard at it mate.

Basically had to start from the beginning a couple of years back (even though I'd been playing for years).

Its now starting to come together and I'm getting a lot more consistent.

Hopefully this year I'll start coming down.

Good shooting

Forget the last hole and concentrate on the others
