4 players playing 2 ball better ball. Par 3. 1st team tee off no problem. 2nd team tee off and first guy knocks it in the hole. 2nd guy still tees off for some odd reason and gets it within spitting distance.

To avoid the bar bill, the team decide to take the tap in as their ball, not the hole in one. Although the score card says a 2, can the first guy still brag about it to his mates, work colleagues and become a massive pain in the rear for the next year?

:mad::D

This is a hole in one.

And let's not forget that once that ball is in the hole, the hole is finished. So not only were their actions in taking a 2 fairly moronic, but also ripping themselves off by 1 shot by signing for a higher score.

Totally agree all round.

Reminds me of the old joke about the rabbi that plays golf on Yom Kippur.

On Yom Kippur a rabbi secretly steals away to play a round of golf. One of the angels sees him and informs Jehova about it.
"Look! There is a rabbi defying you by playing golf on the holiest day of the year instead of honoring you in prayers. What are you going to do about it?"
"Oh, don't worry", says Jehova. "He will be suitably punished. Watch!"
The rabbi tees off on the first hole, a difficutl par 3, and hits a hole in one.
The angel looks at Jehova helplessly.
"I thought you said you wanted to punish him."
"I just did."
"But he just hit a hole in one."
"Yes", answered Jehova. "But who can he tell about it?"

What an absolute mingebag.

On my (was it /or wasn't it) hole in one, I gladly went into the bar and got the ale in , costing me about £80.

Even some people just buy a bottle of whisky nowadays, and put that on the bar for people to help themselves. Can't believe they wouldn't even do that, at least.

Did they buy you a drink...........or was it you?

Not a HiO for me, certainly can't go on the board in the clubhouse if the competition qualifies for that.

In the club it can't be claimed but outside the club it probably could be gotten away with.

Really still goes down to the writing of the 1 on the scorecard in the end.

So your logic days that a hole in one can only be in a tournament??????

The guy hit one shot from the tee, it went into the hole, of course it's a hole in one.
