Played with a guy in his 70's on friday plays off 6 now, best he played was +2, never had a hole-in-one, one of the other guys off 12 has had 8, wierd, wierd event and ryhme or reason as to who or when.

I bet the +2 guy has holed out from the fairway more though.

I've only done it twice, 70 and 150 yards.

Still no HIO for me although I've had a few as close (or closer even) than this.

I have holed out from the fairway about four times though, ScienceBoy. Most recently last week with a 72 yard sand wedge for eagle.

Close is the ball laying against the flagstick and not dropping after the flag was lifted [windy with a 2 iron]

Would not have counted as I was on my own.

One of my two albatross's was with a 7 iron second. The second one was with a driver.
Only three holes in one but holed out with just about every club in the bag except 2/3 iron.

I was very close to a hole in one on Saturday.

I only missed by one shot :D

How unlucky, one day one day.

Not had one myself but my son has, just a lot of luck, would just like a bit more luck myself!!

If it had gone in the hole it would not have counted.
You need to have a witness to a hole in one.

So if I played on my own and made a double bogey it's not a double bogey cause no one witnessed it?

That's ludicrous. If you hit it in the hole in 1 shot, it's a hole in one.

Them two photos, ave been there but as much as I was happy with my tee shots, God how my tyrets kicked in.

my mates pitched on the cup but didnt drop in. i have a pic somwhere of it.
