Got so close to an Ace today, went out to our Par 3 this afternoon, on the 140yd 7th this is where my ball stopped.

I have one that finished 10" from the hole and one that half pitched over the hole edge and made a right mess of the hole, then kicked on 20ft.
edit to say, I had one tee shot that hit the flag pole twice. Bounced before flag, hit flagpole bounced left about six inch kicked back onto flag pole and finished about 18" behind flag.
That one didn't count coz A, it was a second shot and B it was on the 9th hole at Royal Woodhouse which is about 85yd long.

Went straight back to the club house and booked a tee for tomorrow!
Was a 7i straight into the wind, 140 yards is usually my 8 iron but since the wind was quite strong into my face I thought I'd go up a club to a 7i, pitched just on the fringe of the green and rolled to where it stopped, pin was cut about 6 foot on so if I actually pitched on the green it would have run far past the pin.
And I'm pleased to say for once I managed to not 3 putt lol

Can't lay my hands on the pic of mine at the minute. It was about 3 inches away on a par 4 that had been shortened to about 150 yards for the winter. Was a beautiful shot, something between a thin and a push that went miles through the green, smashed a tree and came back to settle inches from the pin. In honesty I was glad it didn't go in, imagine that being your first hole in one!
