Any forumers out there able to give me feedback on these units, ideal with a comparison against other market leaders such as the Nikon on the v2/v3. I'm struggling to find any stockist in my area but I'm reluctant to buy blind given that I don't this with the hillman and to be honest was rather let down.

So far I have tried the v2, v3 and coolshot and at the moment I'm leaning towards the v3 just because of the speed in which it pics the flag up, compared with the Nikon it seems to respond so much quicker and didn't seem as jerky when trying to zap flags, I was a bit disappointed with the coolshot from as little as 140 yards.... It just seemed to jerky where as the v3 seemed to zap in fine from as far away as 225 yards, which seemed the longest distance that I tried it from.

Any help or comparable feedback much appreciated, I have emailed snooper to see if they can point me to a more local stockist as a back up option,

thanks is advance

I have a proforce laser which I'm pretty certain is identical to the snooper.

It picks up a flag within a couple of seconds as a rule. I've no idea if it's slower than a bushnell, but to be honest, how much faster would it need to be to be worth the extra cash ?! fwiw, rather like virtuocity, I'm a fan of it and can think of no particular advantage to be gained by going bushnell/nikon.

However I see from a previous thread that you weren't that keen on another budget device (hillman), and as I suspect pretty much all of the £100 rangefinders are the same model with different stripes on, I would advise caution and try and get hold of one in your mitts before purchase.

Dave, your spot on. I thought the hillman was a waste of time, in all honesty I doubt I used it for a full 9 holes.

The v3 was good, very good infact and I used it for the full 18 not even looking at my gps. Unfortunately trying to find a snooper to have a demo of is very hard indeed

I've never owned a laser until the Snooper.

You point at the target and push and hold the button. It gives you an instant reading.

If all lasers don't do this, then I'd be very concerned.

I done a bit of a comparison with a playing partner when I forst got mine. There was no difference at all between the units reading wise only in the price and size ;) In fact he said after using mine he actually preferred it to the v2 (I think his was anyway) and can't imagine that there is much difference between the 2 and 3. For the money I paid for mine it was great value and honestly don't think I would change from it if I was needing another.

It seems from the feedback the snooper is a better laser from the cheaper end, which is good to hear. The hillman was just a let down, rather like the PGA gift sets y.ou get at Christmas when really all you wanted was a piece of coal.
