Forgot to tell you about a strange sight the other day at Aylesbury Park.
Playing the 13th, a long downhill par 5, I noticed some crows having a go at each other in the rough. Suddenly one of them flew up with a 2 foot snake in its beak, closely followed by the rest of the pack.
Suffice to say I didn't venture into the rough again!!

It was probably only a grass snake or slow worm...wouldn't worry too much. Seen 'em swimming across my fishing lake...amazing sight !!!

Would have done better if he'd been playing with a long iron

Played golf with a chap last year (we tagged up halfway round), coming down the par 5 9th our balls were both in the middle of the fairway. When we walked to where they lay, we couldn't find his ball, hunted around for it for a few minutes all to no avail. He eventually dropped a ball and played his "2nd" shot up the middle again. As we were walking up, a dirty great crow flew down, picked up his ball and flew off with it, it was gone. He dropped again and we finished the hole. It was a twighlight round, not enough time for another 9, but enough time to go back up the 1st and down the 9th. We both teed off the first, as we were walking up, the same/ another crow came down and took his ball again........... That was three balls in 2 holes, never seen the like since.

Was talking about it in the pro shop after, they then told me that Woburn has a problem with crows, one particular par 3 it's quite common for balls to go missing. A couple of yearas back they had to cull the crows, they found their nest in the woods, with over 1500 balls stashed below......

Yep Woburn does have a problem with Crow's nicking balls. I've been there 17 years and have seen it maybe half a dozen times. The worst thing they do though is turn the bloody divots over all the time.
