Small Jock in the big city

Morning all.

Recently got news that i will be moving to London (from Glasgow) in a few months. This we be for about 3 years.

I'll be living about 5 miles North of the city (would flex for better facilities).

Can anyone recommend the best places to keep golfing regularly (ideally keeping some practice going after work)? I saw there was some 'Central London Golf Range' types things with 9 holes and also a PlayGolf in Northwick Park.

The reviews of these are pretty poor and i know the memberships to some of the 'local' courses are alot higher than up near Glesga. Is there any kind of municipal circuit?

Does anyone have any experience living in the city centre and keeping the there game well oiled.

Realise i might sound a bit out of touch with all this

Can you not apply for country membership to keep the price down..

I am right that for country membership you need to remain a fully paid member at your current club?

Also i thought these memberships require you to live a certain distance away from the club (usually +30 miles).

I kinda want the opposite.

I could easily be wrong.
