So I've been having some trouble with my longer clubs and my pro says I need to work on my posture, stability and weight transfer. Need to have my feet a little more flared, my knees a little more bent and feel the strain on the inside of my right leg going back and outside of my left foot as I finish.

She showed me a video of young Rory and im thinking his swing is pretty tidy. Mmmm wouldn't it be nice to swing it like the Holywood hero and have that fabulous control (think Congressional not Sugusta). Only problem is I don't have much chance of getting to the range or course to practice at the moment.

Anyway in Harvey Penick's little red book and he starts talking about practicing your swing in slow motion. Not just slow, reaaaaaaaaaally slooooooooooow. Apparently your brain doesnt diffeentiate by speed and doing it in slow morion reduces the chances of you getting it wrong. Sadly the ceiling in my living room doesn't have enough clearance for a swing with a club, especially as I'm quite a lanky chap! But then I remember a video of Tom Watson 'swinging' with a club across his shoulders.

So I've used the V-easy instead of an iron (there you go Bob another use) and started doing a slow motion drill every evening with a ball as a reference point on the rug. Early signs are that it is changing the way I swing a golf club for the better. So for those of you who like me can't get to the range very often I thought I'd share.
