Being a fully paid up member of Slice Club I've tried everything to banish it, found a few temporary fixes but never anything permanent. Until I picked up John Dalys book golf my own damned way. Johns instructions are really clear and mixed up with anecdotes and rants at various things. His advice was turn don't sway, you know youv'e swayed if you feel your weight on outside of right foot at top of backswing, it must stay on the inside of the foot...and its worked for me, after range visits and several rounds. Slice gone plus increased distance...up to 305 yds according to google earth at the 8th on my course last week.
Just wanted to share with the group

Well, well this sounds like GOOD news.

i.m.o. you can slice the ball regardless of your swing... (unless you have a permanent hook/inside path swing). But what is important is to find a way to swing that encourages YOU to not cut across it inadvertently....if a swing thought achieves this.....nice one!!!

PS.....are you anywhere near the south b'ham area of Warwickshire? PM me?
