This sounds like a good club for me. Just wondered if this idea has been done before. If anyone can recomend any other clubs that would be good off of the tee. But more like a 3 wood than a driver.
Thanks

There are lots of 3 woods around that you can get with strong lofts around 13or14 degrees. The problem is that they are difficult to use off the fairway. You can also find things like the long tom 2 wood at. 12 degrees.

There is nothing new in golf! This is the old 2 wood that was in every set of clubs a zillion years ago.

Can of worms officially opened, please come in all TM haters!

Drivers of old were around this size and length of shaft but nobody has done it with modern technology, I for one think it's a great idea, the amount of duffed shots I see with mid hcp players trying to hit a Sunday best off the deck is unreal, this club will take away that and in its place give you in effect a very forgiving wood off the tee.
Personally I think they will fly off the shelf, can't see to many pro's playing it though.

Errrr Callaway have had the Deep series way before TM were lofting up!

Not sure how that is related to the SLDR mini? Almost all the manufacturers have had strong 3w lofts in some models for many many generations. The SLDR mini is a throw back to much smaller headed drivers with 2w style lofts and deep faces.

I'm very tempted with getting one. I played today and only used my driver 3 times as I prefer to go for accuracy over distance, as I find it easier to hit a green at 150 yards from the fairway rather than 120 yards from the rough. At times I find round most members courses the driver goes too far.

I love the idea of a low lofted 3 wood that has the bigger, more forgiving head of a driver that plays more like a 3 wood. The SLDR mini or PING Rapture are on my shopping list. Going to have to go and try them against my 3 wood and driver.

Had a few hits with one today in AG ... free sleeve of balls :)

Off the floor or off the tee very easy to hit. I'd have to hit off grass and on a course to be 100% though ... and then I'd have to try all the different combos (they only had the 14* in Reg shaft). £179 at AG though, so may be looking at bag gapping in the future.

Took mine out for its 2 round today and I love it. Off the tee it's easy to hit and probably only 15 yards shorter than my driver with much better dispersion (my swing issue rather than driver fault). The big positive (and surprise) was hitting it off the deck. When I purchased I didn't expect too much from the fairway however I actually find it easy to get into the air and very straight!!

First outing in a comp tomorrow so will see how it holds up!

Mine is 14 deg with stiff shaft btw

Definitely thinking about one of these, strictly using 3 wood off the tee recently as my driver is a mare. I also got a surprise bonus yesterday which would cover the cost so it's a no brainer :D
