Took delivery of a Skypro swing analyser this afternoon, looking forward to trying it out on the range tomorrow so I'll post up a review sometime early evening. Watch this space.

That's the fella Homer, bit pricy I know but I don't spend hours drinking in pubs don't smoke and no children so I have to spend it somewhere but I am intrigued with what it claims it does and with the lessons could be of some benefit.

Do you mean this? http://golfskypro.com/

£165 from Direct Golf so a hefty price tag so it better be good. Look forward to hearing how it goes. Personally, I think I'll stick to a video and V1 or GASP software but if its going to help you and you go lower its money well spent I guess

Or you could have 10 half hour lessons and see your handicap rise.

i've had one for a while but still getting to grips with all the information it gives me and trying to work out what i want to use that data to work on.

i have been impressed with it thus far, it doesn't pick up every single swing i make with it but i'd say 85% there or thereabouts.

it is however very difficult to determine if the data its giving you is accurate, so i have that doubt in my mind. but overall satisfied with it to begin with.

I had a 3bays device and sold it, but I'm seriously tempted by the Skypro. I'll be interested to read your comments after you've used it for a while.

Not knocking you at all. In a similar position but I have a Footjoy fetish I cant control. I'd be interested to see how you get on and whether you feel there are significant benefits over just watching a swing on video

Said many time before that 2013 has been a transitional season based on the big swing changes last winter. It has been a pain the rear striking it better and controlling the direction better but not converting it into scores and so of course the handicap has risen. Doesn't invalidate the work I did or the progress I feel I'm making. Look at many good players, and sometimes you need to go backwards to be able to kick on again

I've been looking at this device as I like the 'groove' feature and as I can't afford a trackman this is as close as I'll get to owning something similar:). Can you advise on how you are getting on with it ?
That said I may wait until after the PGA show in Orlando later this month to see if Skypro bring a version 2 out before making a decision on whether to invest in this. Interesting device though although a little expensive.

I think the Swingbyte 2 is available in UK now, the Youtube vids look good, being able to sync video with swing data is a nice touch, and being able to custom your clubs to the device including the putter is a definite advantage! However, the people I have spoke to found the rubber strap on Swingbyte 1 pants because it moves on the shaft after a couple of strikes, which is why I plumbed for 3Bays Pro, but the online site were out of stock, when i placed my order . So still looking at the options.

SwingByte2 doesn't have a rubber strap any more. Very secure on the club.

I have a 3bays, gave it whirl again after a couple of months. Honestly I struggled to believe the numbers, it was a little too low but what it had shown was how my swing had become less flat. I will give it another go nearer the summer, as I thought it was a little destructive for my practice regime. I ended up thrashing at it to get the SS number up.

I would be very interested to read comments on any of the swing analysers. I really think one may help my practice, especially in the winter when you can't get out on the course too often, but comparing them like for like seems very difficult as they all seem to do different things. I saw a great review on Swingbyte 2 and was ready to buy one, but saw some bad reviews on Amazon, mainly about it twisting on the shaft. By the sounds of it, they may be talking about Swingbyte 1. Alternatively the Sky Pro looks good, especially the "groove" feature.

i'm gradually getting to grips with what my skypro can do and generally very satisfied with it. I've not done too much grooving with it, but having compared swings with the skypro to the same on V1 video, I think the plane data is pretty accurate.

it'll will probably take a bit more research to get the most out of it, but I think it's a decent bit of kit. I got mine in the US though at a better price, I'm not sure how happy i'd be paying £170 for it. yet.

The pro version is pretty heavy, at 70grams. The mini version is a lot lighter, any idea what the benefits are over 3 bays or Sky pro

I have no idea as I've not seen 3bays or sky pro close at hand but the itrainer has all the data in there and can be also used with your putter as well.
