My old man has asked me to renew his Skycaddie for him. I always do it on my PC as he is as good with a PC as he is at cooking...........rank.;)

The old one has not played much golf since August but is back playing now and has not used his unit since July llast year he reckons and when I went to renew it turns out the sub ran out on 27/09/13.

If I renew does this mean it only runs til 27/09/14?

Surely not?

Bollocks to that if it is.:mmm:

Didn't Skycaddie do away with subs, or was it just for new purchases? I would be asking after a free subscription, you never know you might win a watch. :)

Would think the subs would run from renewal date though, surprised if they didn't.

Might ring em tomorrow and state the old boys case.Pure joke, what if he had been unable to play since say last February!

Good luck! The renewal start from when it ran out not the date when you actually hand over the cash...really annoyed me so switched to a Garmin S1

Crazy. I use them too but always renew on time as I use it all the time and everywhere but he really has not touched it since last July. He'd be better with an Aldi watch!

If its a good unit then maybe sell it and get one of their watches or Gimme things?

agree with this. I like SKY Caddies accuracy over the others, but I hated the subs. The new Skycaddie watch looks ideal for me with F/M/B and no subs

I spoke to them on their online chat function a couple of years ago when I had the same issue and they talked me through de registering and re registering to change the subscription due dates. The next year I bought a Garmin and a Bushnell and ditched the Skycaddie.

I hate paying the subs, we all do but buying a new unit to avoid the subs is a massive false economy. Buying a different unit would be over £100 and that would be three years subs.

it starts from when your renew date is
not from when you pay
I got stung with that before

I would be challenging this and demanding a pro-rata refund, myself. To charge you for an unusuable product is ludicrous. The only way to justify back dating a renewal would be had they not cut your use of the service when your original subscription ran out.

I never renewed mine from nov and was told when I renewed in February subs would start then but it backdated me to nov. Had to call back and complain . Passed about from person to person for weeks and still never got the subs changed

I'm in the same position Alan, mines was due in February but couldn't be hooped doing it so left, kinda cracks me up i need to pay £30 a year for it. Was looking on Tesco and they have a garmin for £99 which lads at my place have . I also saw £10 discount code on the website plus I've hundreds in Tesco Vouchers so might give it a go.
