For anyone who has one of these, how long does your battery last?

Mine only does about 27-30 holes which doesn't seem very good to me.
I've turned the screen brightness down to 60%, use the feature where it shuts the screen down if you don't press a button for 30 secs, and it's still rubbish for battery life.

Are there any other secrets to making the battery last a bit longer? I'd guess the wi-fi hurts it a lot but can't see anywhere to turn that off.

I'm thinking of entering a few 36 hole comps this year, it would be nice if the SkyCaddie would last both rounds!

My sgx does 36 holes hope the touch if have soon to be unleashed is the same.

have you tried turning off the wireless feature - that can be a battery hog!

I agree, but can't see anywhere to turn wi-fi off.

Hopefully it's me being dim and someone will tell me where to find it.

Almost certainly true John, but the sales literature says up to 14 hours so I thought I could just about squeeze 2 rounds into that.

'Up to' is a phrase I hate in advertising. You could save up to 50%. Most likely 2.5% but use the words 'up to' and no-one can call you a liar.

Mine will do 36 holes no problem. Not that it's a problem anyway. My trolley has a USB conn...

My sgx has done 45 holes a few times, but have sub on trolly if needed.

The difference between the SGX and SGXw is wi-fi, which it doesn't appear you can turn off. For that reason I'd expect the SGX to last quite a bit longer than mine.

All my courses are already on the device, I don't use wi-fi at any golf course. Ever. But you can't turn the bloody thing off.

If you have wi-fi enabled on your phone, it is still sucking battery life even when you're not using it. I assume the SGXw is the same.
