The battery life of my SkyCaddie SG5 is now down to about three hours compared to the fourteen hours when it was new. I have been on the SkyCaddie website and they are asking for £26.95 plus £6.95 p&p and a seven working day delivery which I think is excessive.
Does anyone know of an alternative supplier as I feel they are taking a liberty both on their delivery charges and delivery times.

Ive not opened mine up, but if you do, then there should be an equivalent on rs.com. there normally is. Or maplins.

I got one of Amazon for about £7 from same company that make them for sky caddie (or so they say) but I've never had any probs with it in nearly a year

How old is it? My SC5 battery started going after about 5 years so I was happy with the life I got from it and wanted to upgrade to the SGX so there wasn't an issue for me

I'm not sure how old it is, but it is certainly more than 5 years. I am more than happy with the SG5 so do not want to upgrade to the SGX or SGXw. which are around £250-£300 mark. I have also pre-paid my subscription for the next two years so want to keep with SkyCaddie. My only gripe is that there is no local back-up for spares and a charge of £7 for p&p is excessive especially as it isn't an express or next day service. There is a Maplin in Dundee so will try them tomorrow. It is a bit unfortunate in the timing, as I'm playing two courses over the next few days that I haven't played before so it would be good to have the battery by then.

Well, I couldn't get a battery at Maplins, so on Thursday afternoon I ordered one from Scottsdale Golf, via Amazon. Less than 48 hours later and it arrived by first class post. Excellent service. Well done.
