I found that with the interwebby thing I was paying £104 per month to Sky? So, I have gone back to BT and got a better deal, hopefully won't suffer the painfully slow speeds I got from Sky that never matched their promise. I did a deal to reduce packages and a discount to £36.50 per month for the sports, movies and basic package. I said that £10.25 for HD is outrageous so she agreed to leave HD on, but not charge for it - so, all in all, a decent evenings work.

So, set up new tv, tune in Sky - no HD, phone them and get told that I'm not paying for HD so can't have it. I tell them the deal I struck with their cancellation department and all they will do is to restore HD on a new 12 month contract and open up a complaint, I told them to listen to the recording of my conversation where it was all sorted, and now waiting for a call

Anyone been there?

plenty of times with SKY- last time was last straw and left- let your money walking do the talking. They really dont give a rats @ss about a customer, once your 'signed up' you are officially a second class citizen/customer

I got 'lied to' many times.............lots of apologies months later but that don't cut the mustard. There's competition out there, use it

Had one of their reps round yesterday. Tried to sign me up for full internet and TV deal.

I told him bluntly I had TV before and cancelled because of problems with the TV. He asked if there was any tree behind my house that might interfere. I told him there was (even though they aren't actually a problem for my freesat and Sky was actually a cabling issue). He thanked me for my time and left very quickly ;)

Apart from sky sports, the HD pack is a con. most of the terrestrial channels HD is free. (ITV2,3,4 and C5 not) but the good ones! ie ITV and BBC are free. I cancelled my sports subs a long time ago, for one match a month and the odd bit of golf, i either go the pub for a massive match or watch on my ipad via skygo and my bro-in-laws login.

And my sky bill is still £76 a month, but thats line rental, phone, fibre broadband (almost at the advertised speeds!)

Sky cust serv are useless, i have been a sky customer for 10 years, that counts for nothing!

Think it total my whole subscription is around £90 a month for HD , Skygo Extra , Sport , Movies , Phone , Internet and one multi room.

Also another £7.50 for BT sports

I know Virgin couldn't do all that cheaper and BT don't get SS1 and 2

No problems paying it because for me and HID it's money well spent

Why would you think that Phil? ... Is this another "I've been told" that you use? .... Or did you illegally stream something?

Did someone earlier in thread not suggest that the quality of the streams is that poor you hardly see it

Even on Sky Go the quality isn't that great

My sky go is spot on. Apparently some of the streaming sites aren't too bad either. Obviously I don't watch them as I couldn't live with the guilt.

Mine is the same as that and it's ok - I don't mind paying the money to have it in full HD on the 52inch telly

each to their own then, but to say skygo quality is poor is not correct IMHO. the picture quality is as good as the standard sky feed to TV. BT sport on the ipad is even better quality though!
