SKY HD wrong room

My SKY HD box ( cable ) is currently in my sons bedroom but we want to move it to my daughters room about 25m away


I do not want to run a new cable outside of the house and wonder if there is a simpler way for me to transmit SKY into different room ?

We have SKY GO as well but you cannot watch this on a TV ??

Any ideas ??

Basic need is disney channel a must have but HD isnt that important and no need to record

if you want the physical box in the other room, you dont have much choice... can you run the cable up into the loft and then down? (dont know which is closer to the dish, but you prob dont have enough cable)

option is a magic eye thing, but the box will be in your sons room still and you still need to plumb co-ax to and from..

If you have decent wifi then pick up a second hand xbox360. They should be going really cheap now with the Xbox One on the way and also the new form factor xbox 360. It makes for quiet a nice platform for Sky GO espeacially with the On Demand stuff. Combine that with Netflix for kids and your daughter should be more than pleased . Also the parental controls are quiet powerful.

We already have both consoles, was aware about Netflix but SKY GO are you sure ?

Its not SkyGo per say, but Sky TV works with Xbox. it does however use one of your licences, so be careful if you have skygo installed on say an ipad and you use it on your laptop... think you are limited to 2 devices these days...

YES.hence why i now use sky go on the ipad only. got fed up with paying £40+ a year for the occasional game of COD and the odd footy match/golf.

may not suit your precise needs but I have TVs in a number of rooms that are connected by Co-ax and tuned to our Sky+ HD box so I can watch what is on the Sky box in any room. If someone wants to watch a programme in the room that has the Sky Box they either watch the same Sky box channel as I am watching or switch the TV from Sky box input to freeview - and watch whatever they want on Freeview.

Also - my son (in Sheffield 200 miles from us) watches Sky Go via his laptop - with his laptop plugged into his HD TV by a HDMI cable.

Completely forgot about the xbox live gold requirement there. Take it for granted myself I've been on it so long. Sorry.

Still a nice neat option to get it on the TV with a plethora of other uses which may be worth the <£1 a week .

If youve got the HD package you can upgrade to skygo+ for free. This lets you download stuff to your device to watch later, and also lets you register 4 devices. They don't advertise it that well though for some reason

OK moved the XBOX 360 into the other bedroom and connected it via HDMI to the TV and set up SKY on demand

You cannot get SKY GO only on demand SKY but it works fine on our 3mbps speed

If anybody knows you can get SKY GO on the XBOX as well please let me know

They could of made the SKY HD box wireless and this could of done the same job as the XBOX without the need for satellite cables connected
