Thought I would pick the forums collective brains.

I have just had another birthday pass by and have been donated funds to purchase my sky caddie. I;m looking to buy tonight and just wondered what was the best deal people had found out there?

Best I have seen so far is £150 with the Marriot voucher. Anyone got an advance on that?

I got my SC5 via my pro who got it at a price I've yet to see beaten online (£249 - 6 months ago). I'm sure someone will tell me it is cheaper now but at the time it was at least £30 cheaper than I could find it online

After watching one of these "in action" for the first time yesterday (courtesy of Murphthemog) I've got to say I was very impressed.
I honestly thought that they would initially slow a round of golf down, but this hands on experience has totally changed my view.
A very handy gadget

Thanks for all the input guys. Ordered the 2.5 with next day delivery for a bargain £135!

Chuffed to bits and will invariably add my thoughts on how it works to the inevitable next GPS thread :)

Does anyone else think the sure shot would be a good contender based on this video, I do. I like all the stat stuff, I normally mark all that on the card when I play. I just wonder how sureshot mark out there yardages. I suspect its not done on the ground.

Only thing I'd say is check that the courses you want are covered in the list of mapped courses.

I mark my stats on the scoresaver card I carry along with my proper scorecard. It takes no time to fill in and I just plug the figures into scoresaver 2 when I get home to find out my figures. It also looks a funny shape and quite big so not my cup of tea. I'd also be interested in how they measure courses and whether they do it on the ground like SC or use satellite imagery
