if i hit my driver from an elevated tee equivalent in proportion to the ski slope how far would the longest drive be??????? falling down a hill isnt a sport.

does anyone in this country actually care about this ,we had a bloke came last and was a celebrity, when i see any elitist sport i turn off, when a kid from a sink estate become world number one i will take notice.

Visited Innsbruck on a school summer holiday years ago, we went to see the ski jump one day. Stood at the bottom looking up the slope is terrifying enough, but if you look where the jumper is looking, the first thing you can see over the edge of the run out area is a graveyard!

Recalled this one - can skip to about 1 minute in

Skiing and winter sports isn't elitist, it's about having access to the facilities. There is nothing stopping your hero from the sink estate competing with the privileged privately educated baddie you detest other than opportunity. In the UK that may seem odd as we have so few facilities so it is naturally harder to get into something as you need more resources (money) to get to them, but in the countries that are actually good at these sports snow and access is pretty easy to come by.

Anyway, wasn't Eddie "the eagle" Edwards a plasterer who self funded?

Sadly no one watched or cared. And they all survived to get their pics in the papers again with monotonous regularity

I watched as I like Skiing and now snowboarding- plus it was a programme I could watch with my 8 year old that I knew couldnt cause offense or 'problem questions'
