99% of the time I don't, however, when it's heading towards the woods I may ask for a members bounce or for it to hit a tree.

Yep, my favourite is a bladed pitch (thin bullet) and mid flight already past the pin I normally giggle a bit and joke with either bite or spin!

People look at me and piss them selves laughing, i find It breaks the tension

Classic yesterday was a flat out 58° wedge.

Told the ball to sit, which it did, 6ft short. Took one bounce forward then span back 3ft to about a foot in front of the pitch mark leaving 5ft down hiller.

Bet if I told it to "go" it would have gone off the back :rofl:

I think it's an article in one of the other golf mags, where the column writer asks the same question as the OP, but he goes on to say that by talking positively to your ball it helps promote good luck.

Saying things like "Sit", "Be Good", "Fly ball fly" or "Be lucky", puts your mind in a good place and so he believes puts your game in a good place.

Saying things like "Come onnn!!!", "For crying out loud" or "Not again", puts your mind in a bad place and so he believes so will your game.

Ye I love to talk to the ball but if I think there is a chance it will do what I ask. If it's hooking hard I am not going to ask it to fade, coz it won't. If it's flying at a bunker I'll ask it to get up and such like.

Always talk to mine. I blame Trevino. I grew up watching him on TV and he was a real talker and his balls seemed to obey. Mine don't listen or do as I ask

Yes, but only when in desperation and something is going a bit skew-whiff, like a nasty knife or a long high-fade heading towards a ditch, OOB or a water hazard.

If I hit a nice approach I will talk to the club, i.e. "Be the club!!"

I think Golf Balls have the capacity to listen unless they are Lake Balls as they die after three days in water.
