Hi There

Anybody got any ideas for my optishot sim setup, that i'm hoping to get.

Original plan was in double garage, but the ceiling height is a foot too low.

Space front and back of house.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Me neither - you can pick up an Optishot for much less than a driver or set of irons. I think the "jealousy" is simply an expression of the desire we all have to be able to practice/play indoors.

I would be looking at a summer house of sorts if I couldn't get one in the garage.

We are looking to move house this spring and one of my requirements is definitely a garage with sufficient headroom to allow a sim installation.

Does your garage have a flat or pitched roof? If the latter (and there's not a room above), I don't believe it would be that hard to raise the ceiling, at least in the swing path. Even a flat roof could be raised, albeit with a bit more work.

Thanks - We have a mini attic thing above the garage (its a secondary attic if you know what i mean). But yeah, I was thinking summer house/shed thing could work!

I have seen somewhere a recommended minimum space (length/width/height) for an indoor sim. If I can find it, I'll post back on here.

Found it. Looks like a 3m cube is about the minimum you can get away with.

A link to this site is posted on the above thread - huge amount of (mouth-watering) information!!

I have a similar set up in a warehouse. you need a 3m x 3m x 3m cage net - you can get away with maybe an inch less height Depending on how tall you are, but no more. Don't forget, you don't stand inside the cage, but usually under the crossbar or just outside so you would really need 3m wide x 3m height by say 5m length. That is just the hitting area. any area around the net is extra. I am pretty sure my unit is 18' x 18' x 9'9" high. Height is just enough as it length (could probably get away with a little less) but there is loads of width for other storage, golf clubs etc.
