I read in Yesterdays Edition of the The Scotsman page 59 that a club golfer has the usual habit of applying to enter the US open pays the cash and fails to appear for the Qualifiers.

A member of Scarborough North Cliff .. It would be nice for the mags to track him down to ask why he goes to all the bother then not bother ..

It seems to me he's just a walter mitty surrealist

The name "Maurice Flitcroft" springs to mind. He used to enter Open qualifying and was asked to leave the course a few times. He used to enter under various aliases and he was a complete hacker. Only in Britain.
