Yes, I know I'm not the first or will be the last, but it doesn't make it any easier to live with!!!

Saturday, stableford off the whites. 38pts including a triple-bogey blob on our 2nd for a 0.4 cut and my lowest ever exact handicap of 6.7
Hit the ball sweetly most of the time, chipped and putted well. Felt in control (except on 2 tee shots which are now in my brain and having a party).

Sunday, social game off the yellow tees. Hadn't got a clue where the ball was going, good strikes outnumbered at least 3:1 by the bad ones. Not sure what I scored as I ended up picking up as soon as I got to the green if I couldn't affect the match, because I didn't want my putting to become infected by the imposter currently in control of my golf swing.

I'm not asking for answers as I know it's just one of those days and hopefully I'll be back to normal for next time, but it's so infuriating, especially when we have limited opportunities to play in our free time.

Anyone else have 2 wildly different games this weekend?

Yes, but mainly front nine, back nine related, and both times the front 9 was adversely influenced by a hang over. Really must cut down the night before golf, as I look forward to it all week, and then play like a muppet because the ground won't stop moving.

Yes brother, I played a game with some of the guys on here on good Friday and had a really good game, 37 points off the whites, in control, lots of fun, a feeling of moving my swing and game forward.

Saturday I was asked to start at 8 oclock, my pal was in such a hurry as his stupid wife was bitching, I was in a strop from some family issues. I has no control of the ball, when I did get a good drive away on 11 it was so long that it went all the way to the ditch and stopped on the bridge post. Later I hit a sweet shot to the pin, the ball hit a stone or something on the green and jumped 70 yards through. I never got a break all day even though I stayed cool.

Very sad as I wanted the feel good that I had the week before but it was a reminder to keep working hard and to stay cool.

Grrrrr 25 points.... sadly for my mate he still did not win, all I had left was to get in front of him and ended up forcing a draw, crap game of golf for us both!

A game of two halfs for me on Saturday too.

+5 gross front nine, with 3 three-putts, then made double on the 10th after being greenside in 2.

Then got my head together and played 11-16 in 1 under gross, until a horror show on the 17th when I hit a massive hook OOB with my 2nd shot. 8 on the card and a nice little cut became me just making it into the buffer.

Not happy, and goes to show that a momentary lapse in concentration can undo all the good work over the previous holes :(

Same here, unfortunately.

Played 18 after work on Friday evening and played pretty well considering the rush from the office.

Then played for the B Team in a friendly match on Saturday afternoon and played some great golf. Ball striking was very solid and my short game felt very sharp. We won our match fairly comfortably and all was good.

Monthly Medal yesterday and I just could not find a score, to the extent that my playing partners and I couldn't help but laugh. Found the worst lies possible, countless duffs, and I couldn't buy a putt for love nor money. Ended up shooting a gross 95 (nett 80). 51 out, 44 in, so definitely a round of two halves! I have accepted it was an off day and still enjoyed the round but after playing so well these last few weeks I felt very disappointed afterwards and am quite annoyed at myself for playing so badly. This game certainly knows how to make you look stupid and smash your confidence.

Still, another comp this weekend coming so an opportunity to put things right and get back on track!

Yep....

Went out Friday afternoon and played 14 holes in -1 gross, 11 pars, 2 birdies, 1 bogey.

Hitting it very well, chipping was great when I missed a green and holing putts without thinking about it.

Saturday morning medal played like an an absolute numpty. Couldn't do anything right and 0.1 back!!

I always seem to play complete junk if i play the day after a comp that ive played well in. I think it may be down to a lack of focus on the casual round after the glory of the day before. When i play crap in a comp i tend to go the other way and play well the day after which is most frustrating

Crazy game!

Starting to think I've a little problem as missed last few weeks altogether through booze... Help. Fully letting myself down as spending time at the range ironing issues.

There is a familiar problem. Trouble is I play the front 9 better with a hangover and then go to pot on the back 9 when I am back to normal again. May have to resort to a couple of quick sherberts at the turn to keep my round going
