Right, I'll be the first to admit that I am no olympic athlete and that I am not in the best shape (round)however I am sick of finishing a game and the moment I sit down Virtually everything stiffens up and I turn into an pensioner! Ten minutes after a round I literally cannot move. I'm only bloody 48.

I'm the same.
But I have to say, a lot depends on the course I am playing. 18 holes on the majority of courses will see me hobbling around with stiff ankles where they have siezed up.
But I can play 36 at Forest Pines and be raring to go again!
Weird.

Blimey, at that rate I've only got months to go before I seize up too. Conclusion: get as much golf in now while I can! :p

Seriously tho' I suggest you try some cod liver oil supplements (they come in capsule form too so tasteless) as they really help(ed) my knees when I used to play Badminton regularly. It's not a magic pill, but one a day habit, that works. In fact I'm gonna start taking them again....today! ;)

Well I am only 32 and get stiff after a round, before a round, during a round,

Maybe you should concentrate on your golf more and not what your going to get up to when you get home - oh so good to be 32!!!

Chris

I just get bad knee and back but that's only when I carry!!
Still haven't fixed my electric trolley! So lazy since I'm in engineering! :)

You poor pathetic bunch of unfit youngsters

I've seen your type on the course. Start slowing down after 9 holes and the seniors behing you moaning about being held up all the time.

Its having the energy to do anything that's the problem PJ!

After a half hour sit down it takes about 30 seconds before everything remembers what its supposed to be doing and I can walk properly again.

If you want pain - try playing a round of golf and then sitting in a car for 4 1/2 hours doing back to back 2 hour driving lessons. I get out after that and people would think I'm ready for a set of G15's.......

I tried having an energy bar in the bag last week, I got it from a body builders shop, it is supposed to give you a boost so supposedly I could train longer, harder and faster. I got it out of the bag on the 15th and didn't have the bloody energy to chew it. :(

A lot of people warm up but unfortunately not many people warm down, after you have played your round try doing a few stretches it could help.

Cheeky sod! I warm down and stretch after every round - warm down slowly with a lovely pot of tea and an egg and bacon sarnie and then home for a yawn and stretch before an afternoon kip - the life of an athlete eh!

Haven't got to that stage yet but our next door neighbour does a lot of cricket and has a similar problem and he's started taking cod liver oil capsules and has doen for about a month and has said he's not so bad after a match now. Not sure how much I'd read into it but surely got to be worth a go
