What is it with the PGA and European tour players not shouting Fore.sat watching the WGC and I cringe when a ball goes into the crowd. Now I have been hit by ball and can tell you it [] hurt. All the people in the crowd seem to do after they get hit is except a ball or a glove from the player. come on guys if you hit it towards the crowd please shout Fore

I would imagine that if someone had paid to watch me play golf then they would be watching my ball anyway. Therefore I'd expect that they saw it coming...

Doesn't necessarily follow.

Have to admire the crowd when Bubba was cutting the corner to drive the green at a par 4..... Stand still, I'll not hit you....... as he fires it right over them.

Have you ever tried following a ball through the air from 300 yards away, it's not the easiest thing to do.

Then why do these tournaments allow you to walk around fairways, sit the crowd in a stand behind the greens or behind the tees, saves a lot of hassle both ways then, if you can see it from 300 yards then you may not hear a shout either.

And miss all the tee shots and approach shots into greens? doubt the crowds and paying public would like that very much.

Yep sums it up, rather somebody take one on the noggin than it go deep into the spinich.

Of course they are, 'cause a shout of fore at spectators 300yds away, even if it could be heard, is really going to enable everyone to be able to get out of the way.

I think they should shout as a matter of etiquette but seriously doubt it would make any difference.

Someone standing 300 yards away 5 deep will not see a ball coming. Stupid reply!

Think McIlroy was guilty of this on the 18th, not a fan of this trend for the pros.

Having said that I wouldn't stand on the side of a fairway and not keep an eye on the tee, let alone stand directly under Bubba Watson's driver to the short par4 green :o

I have no problem with them not shouting, it ain't your local muni!

The only thing that ever worries me is (for example) seeing Tiger hitting a 1-iron stinger on the 18th yesterday with people clearing a pathetically narrow 5yd wide path in the crowd... I'm thinking "don't shank it!!!" ....as someone could literally be killed from close range.

There will be nobody to nut the ball back onto the fairway if they shout fore...

Seriously, though did anyone see Bubba's drive where he hit it over the crowds, i had my eyes shut...
