Currently got a set of Adams Blue irons. Bought new a year ago for around £180. If I am reading the PGA value guide right, I should get £230 from AG for them, and also be able to keep the pair of hybrids which came with it.

am hitting them well at the moment, but am tempted by the Calloway XRs (£399) or the Cobra Fly-Zs (£329).

Would I see much of an improvement switching to the above, or is the sensible advice to stick with what I've got?

id go down to AG and test both irons. Take your current bag with you and compare them against each other.

I went down and tested the pitching wedges and 7 irons against my current before buying

whats the make up of your iron set by adams? id be surprised if you got £230 for them after paying £180 brand new but stranger things have happened

Not 100% sure if you're reading it right. I've got the same irons, and when I looked it was about £150 I think

PGA value site has the Blue set at $145, so double that is $290 which converts to £230? The set is 5-PW.

bizarrely the Blue Combo set which is the same irons plus a 3 and a 4 hybrid is also quoted at $145.

are you using the trade in tab or the research tab? trade in has them at $101.25 (assuming they are steel shaft)

divid that by 1.5 for the conversation rate times by 2 gives £135

bummer, didn't realise there was another tab!

Its very annoying! Some AG go by it but not many majority go by the trade in

£135 is a decent return considering the price you paid just depends how much your willing to invest in new gear

but as my mate said to me don't change for the sake of it. If your hitting well with what you got a change doesn't always help

on the flip side new clubs are nice lol I love mine

Yeah, why not, if you fancy a change then go for it, as to whether it'll make a difference to your game 'who knows' only you can be the judge of that, just bare in mind though that newer doesn't always equate to better (for you) so don't rule out disappointment as the possible result in your little experiment, said as a man with great experience in the subject of habitual club swapping disasters.

I can speak as some one who only changes his clubs when he absolutely needs to. I've only absolutely needed to, 3 times this year! Go for it, you know it makes sense!
