Should I buy a mini driver?....... I ask because

I hit my driver around 5/6 times outta 10 the way I want it and that stat also goes the same for my 15 degree 3 wood 5/6 times outta 10.
When I used to own a SLDR Mini driver that stat was more like 7/8 times outta 10 I hit the way I wanted.

Your going to ask why I sold it? Because I couldn't hit it off the deck maybe 2/3 outta 10 I hit the way I wanted and at the time didn't have the finances to have a mini and a 3 wood at the same time.

Now that has changed and I could afford a mini driver if i wanted, I hit my 4 iron maybe once every 3 or 4 rounds so I dont mind taking that out to accommodate a new mini driver.

Do you think I should get one for those holes where I really need to hit the fairway?

Cheers

For whatever reason you feel confident with a mini driver so logic would dictate you should use one.

Can't think why you get confidence from it as its longer than you 3 wood and has a smaller head than your driver but whatever the reason, confidence is powerful!

I've got the Callaway 1.5 MiniDriver after dumping the Aeroburner. It's use for me is on the tee for the holes that require position over length. I really like it and it's great to have 2 good drivers

Another vote for a yes. It's not a guarantee but it is much easier than a driver.

I played with a guy on here, who hits his driver 270-280. He had a go with my mini and ended up 5 yards behind his drive.

IM not a big hitter so a good hit for me is 220-250 depending on conditions

I've still to try a mini driver but am definitely interested in giving 1 a go to see what all the fuss is about.

I had a go with at Alwoodly - great bit of kit and it flew of the face with a bit more control than a driver.

Would certain recommend them if someone is struggling with a driver - seems far easier to hit

Can get the SLDR at a great price these days

I had a go with the SLDR at the range and found I'd very clunky compared to the Callaway

I have only hit Daves and it felt so smooth and flew of the face - have tried the rapture and it was awful but haven't had a go of the Callaway version

I haven't got space for one in my bag but know people who have got the mini and a main driver and use the mini as a 3 wood instead

Lots of colorful Cobras to pick from :D

My mate has a Bio Cell in red and loves it - swapped a G30 for it

I tried the aeroburner mini ay N1 on Sunday and the only difference between it any my 3 wood (I don't use a driver) is that the flight was lower but distance wise there wasn't much in it and it still didn't stop my wild hook that creeps in every so often!
think id rather spend the £200 on lessons!

There is a distinct lack of adjustability on these mini drivers. Its as if they are pretending its still 2005 and the tech is still in the pipe line.

Expect to see an adjustable hozzle, then moveable weights sometime around aeroburner 5 .

I bought an aeroburner mini driver last week, found it difficult to use and only went as far as my 3 wood.
Will persevere though, probably just my swing.

I have the Xhot 3 deep, which whilst I am not sure if its classified as a mini driver I find I can hit it pretty much as well as my driver and its generally more accurate, I also find it relatively easy off the fairway too.
