I was due to play in a medal today but got offered a freebee at Castle Stuart so played there instead.

Course was in superb condidtion and has hardened up a fair bit since the Scottish open two weeks ago. we have had a fair bit of dry windy weather the last couple of weeks and even had a westerly breeze today.

I played really well and took a few quid of my playing partners the highlight was holing
my 2nd shot on the par 4 9th for Eagle for 39 out gross. and even better the back 9 a two under par 34 for the back 9 gross.
Even managed to birdie the 17th into a 2 club wind. Was a fluky shot, awfull pulled slice with a 2 iron from 210 yards that ended up 2 feet from the hole. you get breaks some days.

A 73 gross on a par 72.

should have played the medal after all, good cut could have been had there:(

Maybe tomorrow?;)

Talk me through a "pulled slice"????

That sounds really complicated and interesting.

Well it was clearly better than my medal with two 8's in the first six holes! Threw in a 7 on the back nine too, just for good measure.
