no but as their sales line isnt accepting calls and clears the line then it doesnt look good

Oh dear. I love mine but this isn't looking good. On saying that I always found they took a bit of time replying to email. How long have you been chasing them?

If the worst happens I wonder if Snooper will be willing to flash the firmware for a small cost?

Direct Golf doing 20% off , see separate thread.
I just bought a Skycaddie watch for £119. No annual fees.

Ahh yet another techno brick for my mounting pile of useless or defunct electronics. That annual skycaddie sub I was trying to avoid is looking less expensive now. Still got my trusty Hillman though.

I'm gutted. I really like my Shotmiser. Does this mean that the handsets will simply stop working/picking up a GPS signal? Haven't used mine for a couple of weeks so just wondered if it is still likely to work when I get back out on the course next week.

GPS signal is independent and the unit is actually the same as the Snooper (Optimize just re-badged them). Just means no more course updates, no more courses will be mapped and there's the risk that downloads of existing green flag courses will stop when/if the servers go down.

I have actually contacted Snooper as a long shot to see if they could offer a paid for flash service.

I've still got a load of free downloads available from when I was given it as a present. Might see if I can log on and use some of them up on courses i might get to play and see if i can get them on my PC before they shut it all down.

Let me know how you get on with Snooper as I might go down that route as well.

Same here because I had the 700 I had lifetime course downloads. Going to have a look over next few days and download all courses I might be playing. Might not have all bunkers etc but should still be good for greens most places. If chancing my arm with snooper fails I'll probably just look out for something else.

I gave up on mine when playing the fifth at Sunningdale Old and realised that it was missing the pond - it has only been there 100 years!

I had the same issue on the 3rd of my home course the first time I played it. Blind drive with a pond at the bottom of a hill. No water on the Shotmiser so I drove it in the pond. Phoned up to complain and within 24 hours they had updated the course and sent me 2sleeves of Pro V 's as an apology. Used to love their customer service.

Tempting! Who's going to take the plunge first?

I was all set to do so then I played with a guy who had had a Snooper. No very complimentary as he said there was a major problem with it continually freezing despite numerous upgrades so he sold it. This story echo's others so instead I downloaded a many courses as I could think of and left a bit of credit on in case the server continues to work. At least the courses work so until I have an issue I'm hanging on
