Ive always drawn the ball, but just under took a bit of a swing change, taking my inside swing path to a more neutral takaway. This has caused me to start hitting a fade.... me no likey

Have a lesson on monday so no doubt ive been doing something wrong.

I have to say though i hate hitting a fade, hate it! always been able to shape the ball with the driver by moving my hands in front of the ball and opening the stance, but only ever had to use this at away courses.

What is your preferred shot shape and why?

I have a natural draw/ hook which can be frustrating and a bonus at the same time, I think I would stick with what comes natural as at least I can make course decisions on that.

Don't care as long as it is consistent. I'm playing a bit of a pull just now to good effect.

Played some good rounds last year with a mega slice. Distance was awful but I was guaranteed to hit target.

Touch of fade is my norm - at least used to be.

Recently started to hit Driver slightly differently and a touch of Draw is the 'proper' shape now - in amongst a few blocks and pulls unfortunately!

Nothing wrong with a slight fade imo. Just consider it a Leftie's Draw. Plenty of major winners play/played with one - and Monty too!

Playing with a touch of fade at the moment and liking it.. Lost a bit of run out, but seems a bit more consistent.. Not too bothered by the shot shape, as long as I know what it's going to do...

I have always played with a draw, with my new irons the draw is gone. I hit it mostly straight, even with a decent right to left wind. Was hard to adjust to but I'm getting there now.

I've got new x stiff shaft for my driver which I'm hoping will lower the flight and be a bit more consistent, might even fade a touch but we'll see when I get the adapter fitted.

But if it goes straight, then what excuse can you use when it doesn't hit the target? At least with a shot shape you can say "Ooh, just a bit too much right to left on that shot.. Would have been good otherwise..."

natural shape has always been a fade (read slice) but recently i have started to draw the ball (not intentionally!) but i am liking it! especially with the longer clubs, short clubs have always been pretty straight with a decent strike. So i would prefer a draw, but as long as its consistent, i am not actually that bothered. I just want to know its going where i aimed it!

I have an issue with shot shape. Most of my shots are generally pretty straight which sounds ideal but the problem is the odd one will draw or fade. Means I can only really aim for the middle of greens or fairways and hope it goes straight

Normally straight. but I can fade- draw and hook also, but sadly I don't know when.
