Has anyone done a short game golf clinic ? either a 1 day intensive session or a two day job ?
I have googled looking for a clinic not too far away but they all seem to be in kent or london and stupid prices - Eg £330 for just one days tuition.
I am after something like a 1 hr video analyis of swing and handicap and then 4-5 hrs on wedges in from 100 yards, bunker play, chipping and putting.
As Padraig says if he took a 20 handicappers shot from 100 yards and in they would be off 5.

Any thoughts comments please folks

I've done it a few times.
Start off with a few holes in the morning, filming their game. Then back to the clubhouse to watch it on Laptop. Then up to the range for practice.
Lunch.
Back to the range with camera to film the progress, back to the laptop. Finish with another few holes filmed to compare from the morning.
5 hours instruction covering putting, chipping, pitching, bunkers, clock face drill and some full swing work.

I'm sure if you approached your local pro, he would arrange something similar for you. Should be between £120-£150

To be honest Bob i was after a a fresh approach if you like - maybe even a top 25 GM coach sort of thing.
Someone like Kevin Craggs - but he is up in scotland - I actually know someone who plays with his dad in shropshire. Or John Jacobs - Neil Plimmer style but they are too expensive or too far away

Please forgive me for butting in here, (I don't make a habit of it). But just had to point out that Bob, in my humble opinion, is actually pretty good at what your suggesting.

There is defiantly a lack of travelling pro's at a realistic, value for money. I do appreciate however finding a venue without upsetting you local pro is tricky.

:o
Thank you :)

Speak with some of your pros or go to a range and see if anyone can offer it to you. Personally I think 4-5 hours on just the short game in one hit is too intense especially if you are going over everything from putting, bunkers, chipping and pitching plus all the shot vairations (high, low and spinning).

I'm sure it would work out cheaper to get a block booking with a pro and concentrate on each facet one by one and work on the different skills and then maybe incorporate a nine hole playing lesson at the end to see how you handle the shots on the course.
