In a Monthly Medal today I had a barely believable front 9 in 37 blows. Of course the back 9 was back to normal. It was only afterwards that I realised that if (a very big if) I had carried on at that level I would easily have shot my age. I didn't, as readers would have expected, and failed by 6 shots. I'm sure there will be forummers who have achieved it but who are they?

I live in hope :D, but well done old son :thup:.

My dad once shot a 73 at Pyrford when he was 71yrs old .................... not bad for the old bugger but he was annoyed.

Whilst well into senior golf status now I am but a boy when compared to shooting ones age, I very much doubt I will ever do it. I have played a few times with a chap now in his mid-seventies who is not happy if he doesn't shoot his age or better, he has however been a 3 handicap or better for over 50 years, still off 2 last time I played with him.

You failed by 6 shots?..... so you shot 37 on the front 9 and 70 on the back???

:rofl:

Nice front 9, just goes to show even old gits can blind a squirrel with an acorn... or something like that :D

Well at least you've done it James, it's mentioned in your signature :rofl:

I assume you lost the match????
:whistle::whistle::whistle:

4BBB inter club friendly. Better ball for my partner and myself was 45 points. We lost:eek: All square going down the last (14th index 1 - we started on 15th) and high h/capper opponent stiffed his 3rd to the green within 6". My 12 ft putt for par missed :mad:

There was only one hole in the whole match that was won with a bogie. All others were par or better.

One of the best and closest matches I've ever had. :thup:

Played this morning and back to normal :o
